Hey, Simon Synett here!

Simon

I'm really delighted that you've dropped in here. I don't much like talking about myself so let me just add a word or two about what I'm trying to do here at Protekzia.com. Highlighted links will take you to articles or other pages that best capture the central ideas. As always, I'd love to hear from you in the comments sections or directly by email.

Protekzia.com is a website about making your world a better place. Your world might be a whole country, or it might be your own family. My goal is to give you some insights into different ways that you can change your world for good and at the same time become who you want to be.

I am a Jew who tries to study the Torah and live Judaism according to Orthodox Jewish beliefs and many of my ideas derive from Biblical texts and rabbinic thought.

I think there's much value to be found here regardless of your religious affiliation, and I try to express those ideas in ways that make sense to people who are not exposed to these sources.

I live in Israel so some of my focus is on Israel, but the ideas will usually be widely applicable.

Change yourself or change the world!

I suspect that if you have enjoyed some of my posts then you are probably a bit of a restless idealist like myself. It's likely that you notice when things aren't as good as they could be and you want to change that.

If you've got that urge to see a better world, you can do one of two things: 1. Change yourself 2. Change everything else in the world Since changing yourself is really scary, many idealists head out to change everyone else!

On the other hand there are many who feel that changing the status quo in any arena is so daunting that they look inwards, try to make themselves great and work on their capacity to take the world as it comes with a kind of tranquil acceptance.

Obviously if you're really serious about changing your world, you'll need to go in both directions. Some of my writing is my own attempt to figure out when to go inwards and when outwards.

How small people can have a huge impact

The Internet is making it possible for very small people to have a very huge impact. The way that the Web has become good at promoting great content to the very people who are searching for it means that you just have to figure out how to use it and you have a lever long enough to lift the whole world.

The Internet can give us meritocracy and democracy at their best because it makes it so easy to spread the word about great work that matters to people.

Businesses, organisations and individuals who understand this can focus on creating and distributing world changing products and content.

At the same time, there's accountability because word now travels so fast means that its much harder to pretend to be something you aren't. You have to be who you say you are because chances are you'll be seen for who you are before long.

So this is also about how to use the internet to promote amazing people who are changing the world. It's about helping the good guys win and about your power to improve your world.
